Coach Mike

Mike Stevens is the Superkids Multisport Youth Development Team Coach with over 20 years’ experience competing at the elite/expert level.

 

He is a Certified USA Cycling and NICA/PICL Mountain Bike Level 1 Coach and achieved his Pro Mountain Bike Race License in 2011. He is a Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor at the Phoenixville YMCA.

In 1999, Mike quit smoking, lost 50 pounds, and ran his first mile followed by a marathon later that year. Six marathons later including Boston, Mike finished IronMan Arizona in 2008.

​

In 2018, Mike achieved the Cat 1 Expert Mid-Atlantic Super Series 50+ Mountain Bike Race Championship, finished Top 3 in the PACX 50+ Cyclocross Championships as the Pennsylvania State Champion, and was awarded PACX Masters Cyclocross Rider of the Year.

​

Mike has competed in more than 300 cycling, running, and triathlon events where he consistently ranks among the highest levels in his age group and has never quit a race. Mike was a competitive swimmer before high school when he lettered in swimming.

 

He and his wife Marla are Co-Community Coordinators for the Healthy Kids Running Series at Charlestown Park in the Spring and Fall since 2016. Their daughters Rachael and Zoe are SuperKids and have been competing in running since they were two years old.
